Troubleshooting: Winegard Trav'ler Pro Power Issues

Troubleshooting: Winegard Trav'ler Pro Power Issues

The Winegard Trav'ler Pro can experience two types of power issues: The IDU (Interface Display Unit) may not power on at all, or it might power on but not completely.

IDU Doesn't Power On at All

  1. Check Power Source and Connections:

    • Ensure the power cable is properly connected to the IDU and the power brick.
    • Verify the power cord is plugged into a working wall outlet. Avoid using power strips for troubleshooting.
    • Try a different outlet if necessary.
  2. Perform a Voltage Test:

  3. Replace Power Cord or Interface Box:

    • If the correct voltage is present, the interface box likely needs replacement.
    • If the voltage is incorrect, the power cord needs replacement.
    • Proceed with warranty replacement or parts purchase based on warranty status.

IDU Doesn't Power On Completely

  1. Unplug and Reconnect:

    • If the IDU powers on but gets stuck on the "IDU SW:/IDU HW:" screen, unplug both the power cord and data cable.
    • Reconnect the power cord. The IDU should ideally boot up and display a "NO ODU Comms" error.
  2. Replace IDU and/or ODU:

    • If the IDU still doesn't load past the initial screen, it needs replacement.
    • If it does display the "NO ODU Comms" error, both the IDU and ODU (Outdoor Unit) need replacement.
