The Winegard Trav'ler Pro can experience two types of power issues: The IDU (Interface Display Unit) may not power on at all, or it might power on but not completely.
IDU Doesn't Power On at All
Check Power Source and Connections:
- Ensure the power cable is properly connected to the IDU and the power brick.
- Verify the power cord is plugged into a working wall outlet. Avoid using power strips for troubleshooting.
- Try a different outlet if necessary.
Perform a Voltage Test:
Replace Power Cord or Interface Box:
- If the correct voltage is present, the interface box likely needs replacement.
- If the voltage is incorrect, the power cord needs replacement.
- Proceed with warranty replacement or parts purchase based on warranty status.
IDU Doesn't Power On Completely
Unplug and Reconnect:
- If the IDU powers on but gets stuck on the "IDU SW:/IDU HW:" screen, unplug both the power cord and data cable.
- Reconnect the power cord. The IDU should ideally boot up and display a "NO ODU Comms" error.
Replace IDU and/or ODU:
- If the IDU still doesn't load past the initial screen, it needs replacement.
- If it does display the "NO ODU Comms" error, both the IDU and ODU (Outdoor Unit) need replacement.
If you've followed these steps and the power issue persists, submit a Support ticket to Winegard customer support for further assistance.
