fixing "no ant comm" error on winegard traveler antenna

Troubleshoot: Winegard Trav'ler NO ANT COMM

The "NO ANT COMM" error on a Winegard Trav'ler antenna indicates that the interface box and the antenna's turret are not communicating. The primary cause of this error is often a loose or disconnected data cable.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Power Cycle and Reconnect the Interface Box Cable:

    • Power off the interface box by pressing and holding the power and select buttons simultaneously.
    • Disconnect the interface box from power.
    • Locate the 6-wire data cable on the back of the interface box.
    • Disconnect and then reconnect this cable securely.
    • Reconnect power to the interface box and power on. If error persists proceed to step 2.
  2. Reconnect the Data Cable on the Roof:

    • Disconnect power from the interface box.
    • Access the roof of your vehicle. A 5/16" wrench and an adjustable wrench will be needed when on the roof.
    • Locate the 4-screw plate where the cables enter the antenna base.
    • Remove the plate using the 5/16" wrench.
    • Find the data cable connections beneath the plate.
    • Disconnect and then reconnect the data cable. You might need to loosen the gray nut on the outside using the adjustable wrench.
    • Replace the cover plate and screws.
    • Go back inside your vehicle and reconnect the power cord to the interface box.
    • Power on the system.
    • Check if the "NO ANT COMM" error is resolved.

If the error persists:

  • The problem likely lies within the turret, and it will need repair or replacement.
  • Submit a support ticket for warranty or repair options.

If the error is cleared:

  • You can use the system normally.
  • If the error recurs in the future, you may need to contact Winegard support for further assistance.

Important Note: If you are uncomfortable performing these steps, seek assistance from a qualified technician or RV dealer. Always prioritize safety when working on your Trav'ler antenna, especially when on the roof of your vehicle.
