The WiFi Ranger is designed to provide seamless internet connectivity, but encountering issues connecting to a WiFi network can disrupt your online experience. This guide will walk you through troubleshooting steps to help you resolve this problem.
- Connect your device to the WiFi Ranger's SSID.
- Open a web browser and go to
mywifiranger.com.
2. Check for Existing Connection:
- If the system is already connected to a local wireless network, it will be displayed under the blue "WiFi" heading.
- For dual-router systems: It's recommended to use the outdoor unit as the WiFi connector. Ensure it's selected from the dropdown in the blue "WiFi" box.
3. Connect to the Desired Network:
- If not connected, locate your desired network in the list and click "Connect."
- Enter the password if prompted and click "Save."
4. Address Specific Scenarios:
- "Filtered Network" Message: If you see this, the network requires additional login or acceptance of terms and conditions. Click the link in the green "Internet" heading box to proceed.
- "Association Failed" Error: Double-check the password. If the issue persists, submit a support ticket to Winegard Customer Support.
- Dual Router System - "Currently Not Connected" WFRControl: This likely indicates incorrect setup. Refer to diagrams in your manual to ensure the TetherPoint cable is connected correctly to the indoor router. If it is, power cycle the outdoor unit, wait 5 minutes, and then click the "Repair" button. If the problem continues, contact Winegard Customer Support.
Important Notes:
- Always refer to your specific WiFi Ranger model's manual for precise instructions.
- If you're uncomfortable with any steps, seek help from a qualified technician.
