The Winegard Playmaker antenna is designed to remain stationary when powered off. However, if you observe unexpected movement even when the receiver is off or not in use, there are two primary reasons for this behavior:
- Receiver's Update Schedule:
- DISH receivers typically perform a guide update overnight, usually between 2 am and 4 am. This update requires the antenna to toggle between different satellites, resulting in brief movement.
- You can adjust the update schedule in the receiver's menus, usually found under the "Power" or "System Settings" section.
- Receiver's Sleep Mode:
- DISH receivers automatically enter sleep mode after 2-4 hours of inactivity (no remote input).
- In sleep mode, the receiver reduces power to the antenna, which can cause random movements.
- To prevent this, disable the receiver's sleep mode in the "Power" section of the receiver's menus.
By understanding these potential causes and adjusting the receiver settings accordingly, you can ensure that your Winegard Playmaker antenna remains stationary when powered off or not in use. If you continue to experience unexpected movement even after addressing these settings, submit a Support Ticket for further assistance.
