The following troubleshooting steps can be taken to address a "Motor Stall" error on the Winegard Trav'ler Pro:
Check for Physical Obstructions:
- The antenna's movement might be hindered by physical obstacles.
- If the obstruction is not part of the RV, move the RV to a clear location.
- If the obstruction is on the RV itself, ensure the antenna's installation adheres to the manual's guidelines. The antenna should have at least 33 inches of clearance from any object taller than 5 inches. The required roof space is 42"x25" for DISH Trav'ler Pro and 44"x34" for DirecTV Trav'ler Pro. If the installation is incorrect, reinstall the antenna properly. Note that any damage due to improper installation is not covered under warranty.
Inspect Cable Routing:
- Incorrect cable routing can also cause motor stalls.
- The sheath cable should have some slack and not be tightly stretched or pinched within the elevation arms. There should be approximately 14 inches of cable between the zip tie securing it to the elevating arm and its connection point at the upper turret ports.
- If the cable routing is incorrect, adjust it. Then, power cycle the antenna and try a search or stow command. If the error persists, proceed with warranty replacement or parts sale based on the specific stall error and warranty status.
If the motor stall error continues even after these steps, it might indicate a more serious issue with the antenna's motors or internal mechanisms. In such cases, submit a Support Ticket to Winegard customer support.
