How to Find and Change Your WiFiRanger Default SSID and Password

WiFi Ranger: Finding and Changing Your WiFi Ranger SSID and Password

Locating the Default SSID and Password

The default SSID (network name) and password for your WiFi Ranger are typically found on a sticker on the device itself.

  • Default SSID: Look for a label on the router that displays the network name. This is usually something like "Pvt.WiFiRanger_XXXX" where XXXX represents the last four digits of the router's WFR ID number.

  • Default Password: The default password is typically printed on the same label as the SSID. It's often "changemenowABCD," where ABCD are the last four digits of the router's WFR ID number.

Important Note: For security reasons, it's highly recommended to change both the SSID and password from their default settings.

Changing the Default SSID and Password

To enhance security and personalize your network, you can easily change the default SSID and password. Here's a general guide:

  1. Access the WiFi Ranger's Control Panel:

  • Connect a device (like a laptop or smartphone) to your WiFi Ranger's network using the default SSID and password.

  1. Log In: You might need to log in with a username and password. Check your router's documentation for details.

  1. Locate the Settings: Look for the settings related to WiFi configuration. This is usually under a "WiFi" tab.

  1. Change the SSID: Find the option to change the SSID and enter your desired network name.

  1. Change the Password: Locate the password setting and enter your new, strong password.

  1. Save the Settings: Click the "Save" button to apply the changes and save your new network credentials.

Important: After changing the SSID and password, all devices connected to the old network will need to reconnect using the new information.

Additional Tips:

  • Strong Password: Use a combination of upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters for a strong password.

  • Avoid Common Passwords: Don't use easily guessable passwords.

  • Regular Updates: Keep your WiFi Ranger's firmware updated for optimal security and performance.

By following these steps, you can secure your WiFi network and customize it to your preferences. If you encounter any difficulties, refer to your WiFi Ranger's user manual or contact WiFi Ranger support for assistance.
