Prerequisites:
Updating Firmware
Connect to WiFi Ranger Network: On your laptop, tablet, or smartphone, connect to the temporary network created by your WiFi Ranger. Look for a network name that starts with "Pvt. WiFiRanger_Model XXXX" (replace "Model" with your specific model and "XXXX" with the last 4 digits of the device's ID number).
Access Control Panel: Open a web browser and navigate to either http://mywifiranger.com/ or http://10.1AB.CD.1:8080/ (replace "ABCD" with the last four digits of your device's ID number) to access the WiFi Ranger's control panel.
Check for Updates: On the WiFi Ranger control panel, look for a link that normally reads "Check for Updates" (usually located in the upper right corner of every page). Clicking on that link once will initiate a check for updates. Automatic checks for updates are also made periodically whenever the Ranger is connected to the internet. If an available update is found, the link text will change to "Update Firmware." Clicking on that link will begin the 10-15 minute update process.
The update process is fully automatic. Once it has completed, the WiFi Ranger will reboot using the new firmware. The firmware version is displayed in the upper right corner of any control panel page, and you can verify that it has changed, reflecting the update.
Important Notes:
If you encounter any issues during the firmware update process, submit a support ticket or contact Winegard Customer Support directly.
