Winegard ConnecT 2.0: Swapping the SIM Card
Before you Begin:
- Power Down: Turn off your Winegard ConnecT 2.0 or disconnect it from the power source.
- Gather Supplies: You'll need your new SIM card and a Phillips screwdriver to remove the SIM plate cover.
Locating the SIM Card Slot:
The SIM card slot on the Winegard ConnecT 2.0 is located on the exterior of the system behind a clear SIM plate cover. This location is consistent across all ConnecT 2.0 models.
Accessing the SIM Card Slot:
- Locate the clear SIM plate cover on the exterior of your ConnecT 2.0.
- Use the Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw(s) securing the SIM plate cover.
- Carefully remove the cover and set it aside.
Ejecting the Old SIM Card:
- With the SIM plate cover removed, you'll see the SIM card slot. It will be spring-loaded.
- Gently press the SIM card inward until it clicks and ejects slightly from the slot.
- You can easily remove the SIM card by hand.
Inserting the New SIM Card:
- Determine the correct orientation for the new SIM card. The side with the gold contact area should face down when inserted, notched end will insert first.
- Carefully insert the new SIM card into the slot, ensuring it's fully seated and aligned correctly.
- You should feel a click when the SIM card is inserted properly.
Reassemble and Power On:
- Place the SIM plate cover back onto the ConnecT 2.0, aligning the screw holes.
- Use the Phillips screwdriver to tighten the screw(s) securing the SIM plate cover.
- Power on your Winegard ConnecT 2.0 by either reconnecting the power cable to its power source or turning the power switch back on (depending on your setup).
Additional Notes:
- Cellular Network Settings: In some cases, your Winegard ConnecT 2.0 might automatically detect the new SIM card and configure the cellular network settings. Click Here to check our article on configuring cellular provider settings.
- Data Plan Activation: You might need to activate your new data plan with your cellular provider for the SIM card to work correctly.
