Winegard Router: How to Capture a Log File

Log files are detailed records of events and activities that happen within your Winegard router. They can be very useful for Winegard Customer Support to troubleshooting problems. Here's how to capture a log file from your Winegard router:

  1. Connect to Winegard SSID: Ensure your device (computer, smartphone, etc.) is connected to the Wi-Fi network broadcasted by your Winegard router. This network name (SSID) is usually something like "Winegard####" or a custom name you've set.

  2. Open Web Browser: Launch your preferred web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.).

  3. Navigate to 10.11.12.1: In the browser's address bar, type in 10.11.12.1 and press Enter. This should take you to the Winegard router's login page.

  4. Login with Admin Password: The default password is "admin".

  5. Steps may vary from this point depending on the software version. If your login looks like the first image below proceed to step 6, if it looks like the second image below skip to step 7.

         

  6. Select Tools: Select the Tools button, then the Save Log button to start the log file capture. Skip to step 9.

  7. Select Support: Once logged in, use the navigate to page drop down and select "Support".

  8. Select Log File: Select "Save Log" to start the log file capture. 

  9. Download: Save the log file and email it to Winegard Customer Support or include it in a Support Ticket with a description of the issues you are experiencing.

Important Notes:

  • Password Security: It's recommended to change the default admin password on your router to protect your network.
