Winegard Router: Locating the SSID and Password

Winegard Router: Locating the SSID and Password

Your Winegard Connect device's SSID (WiFi network name) and password are essential for connecting your devices (phone, laptop, tablet) to the WiFi hotspot created by your Winegard Connect. There are two main locations to find these credentials:

1. Default Label:

The most common location for the default SSID and password is a label directly on your Winegard Connect device. Here's where to look depending on your model:

  • Winegard Connect 2.0 and 2.0+: The label is typically placed on the front of the user manual or at the base of the Winegard Connect unit itself under a clear plastic plate.
  • Winegard Gateway/Gateway 5G: Similar to the 2.0 models, the label is usually found on the front of the user manual or on the back of the Gateway device.

This label will display both the default SSID and password for your Winegard Connect's WiFi network.

2. User Manual:

If the label on your device is missing or unreadable, you can find the default SSID and password within the Winegard Connect user manual.

Important Note:

The default SSID and password are intended for initial setup and are recommended to be changed for security reasons (see our article on [How to Change SSID and Password on a Winegard Connect Device]([link to article on how to change SSID and Password on Winegard device])).

Additional Tips:

  • If you've previously changed the SSID and password from the default settings, you won't find them on the label or in the user manual. You'll need to access the Winegard ConnecT web interface (explained below) to view your current SSID and password.

Accessing the Web Interface (to view current SSID and password):

  1. Connect a device (phone, laptop, tablet) to the WiFi network of your Winegard Connect.
  2. Open a web browser on the connected device.
  3. In the address bar, type 10.11.12.1 and press Enter.
  4. Login to the web interface using the username and password you've set (or the default credentials if you haven't changed them yet).
    1. default username: admin
    2. default password: admin
  5. The SSID and password for your Winegard Connect WiFi network will be displayed on the "Local Network Settings" or "My Network" page depending on the software version.
