winegard traveler pro emergency manual stow procedure

Winegard Trav'ler: Emergency Manual Stow Procedure

Important: Emergency Manual Stow is a last resort and not for common use. Only perform this procedure if the automatic stow function is unavailable. Improper execution can damage the antenna's motor.

Tools Required:

  • 5/16" socket
  • 6" extension
  • Wrench (to remove plastic bolt)

Steps:

  1. Unplug Trav'ler Interface: Disconnect the interface box to cut power to the antenna.
  2. Remove Plastic Bolt: Locate the black plastic bolt at the back of the mount and remove it using a wrench. This bolt covers the auxiliary drive access.
  3. Insert Socket & Extension: Insert a 5/16" socket with a 6" extension into the auxiliary drive hole.
  4. Turn Clockwise to Lower: Carefully turn the socket clockwise to manually lower the antenna. Proceed slowly and steadily.
  5. Adjust Antenna Rotation (if needed): Before fully lowering, the antenna arm should face the rear of the vehicle. If not, gently rotate the turret by hand until the arm aligns with the "rear" label on the transition plate.

Caution:

  • DO NOT USE POWER TOOLS to lower the antenna. This can cause irreversible damage to the motor.
  • Manual stowing is for emergencies only. Repeated manual operation can strain the antenna's components.

Note: If you encounter difficulty or are unsure about any step, consult the Winegard Trav'ler manual or submit a support ticket to Winegard customer support for assistance.
